Course Description

Your SCS journey starts here with an advanced manual therapy approach to somatic dysfunction! Here, you'll learn treatment techniques that will allow you to alleviate pain and restriction within the musculoskeletal systems, balance the nervous systems, and optimize vascular flow. With its thorough introduction to whole-body dysfunction and pain, SCS Complete Body is the perfect starting point for beginners.

This course will cover the cervical spine, thoracic spine, ribs, lumbar spine, sacrum, pelvis, upper extremities, and lower extremities with lectures, demonstrations, and labs for each. In addition, we'll emphasize the development of palpatory and hands-on treatment skills to enhance your effectiveness. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to understand the neurophysiologic basis for Counterstrain, perform the general Counterstrain procedure, and feel relatively comfortable applying over 185 learned techniques.

To further increase your effectiveness, we'll introduce facilitatory advancements and new concepts in treatment strategies! As you progress in your practice, you'll be able to rely on additional techniques to reduce hold times down to 3-10 seconds. We'll also introduce you to the dural release strategy, myofascial pain strategy, modified neuro-tension strategy, cranial strategy, and more.

Note: SCS Complete Body is a hybrid course comprised of prerecorded lectures and demonstrations (which students are expected to study and review at their own pace) followed by a 3-day in-person lab.

Complete Body should be at the top of any healthcare provider's continuing education list! As a PT practicing for 20 years now, I can confidently say the Counterstrain technique has made me more effective than anything else out there. When a patient complains of pain in any area of the body, I am able to help them in about 30-60 seconds.
